Spring time at Christmas!

One day late, so I'll say Happy Boxing Day and a belated very Merry Christmas!  Did you all have a good day? I got some new Embroidery supplies, a lovely small hoop for my next pattern! My sweet cat, Phoebe has been keeping me company whilst cooking for Christmas!

For the first time in weeks it is sunny today and not raining!  It has been so mild, but gloomy and wet, seems like the perfect weather for Spring flowers!! I just noticed this brave little primrose in full bloom, Sweet Williams still going and a Rose bud all tightly closed as if waiting for the Summer!

I was planning on taking festive photos in Gent the other day but it was POURING with rain that we just sheltered under the umbrella swimming in and out of the shops!  I do hope none of you are affected by the flooding in the UK at the moment?

I have just finished a new illustrated range including Party items, so if you love Horses, Unicorns and Fun Fairs then drop back soon, it will be a happy way to welcome the New Year!

Feeling Cosy & Stitchy!

I've been so busy behind the scenes working on some very exciting illustration projects and sending out Christmas orders! Then a trip to the UK for sweet Nativity Christmas school Plays, birthday parties and early Christmas cheer!  So I've not been in Blogland as much as I would like!  This post I hope will make up for this and bring some bright and cosy Christmas cheer to each and every one of you, so make yourself comfy with a mince pie or two!

But just before I share photos I am over the moon to have my festive Embroidery Patterns featured on the FAB-U-LOUS  Feeling Stitchy Blog, head on over there to enter a Giveaway for my Friends for Tea Ornament Pattern!  Such a sweet and quick project to make for the Tree and to hop into stockings for Tea Parties all year round!

Right back to my photos, are you ready... then I'll begin in London at Liberty, always a highlight of my trips there.

I love to visit National Trust houses & gardens and this was my first visit to Hughenden Manor, the home of the Victorian Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, a friend of Queen Victoria. It also had a secret WWII past used as the base for map making for the RAF, being on Hitler's Top Hit List, luckily he never found it!
It was decorated for Christmas as it would have been in Victorian times.

Christmas as it would have been in the 1940's, complete with the music, wonderful!

I'll be taking more Christmas photos here in Belgium that I will share with you soon.
In the meantime thanks heaps for visiting and stay warm or cool wherever you are in the world!

Singing for Cookies!

Recently my Christmas Card with Ducks singing Carols was spotted by the very talented Paula of  Vanilla Bean Baker.  She was taking part in the fabulous Christmas Card Cookie Project and asked to use my illustration as inspiration.  I was thrilled with the idea and look what she created, isn't it fabulous!  Do check out all the other Cookies in this project, these folks are artists and they have all shown how they made them!  If you fancy trying your hand at cookie decorating there is a tutorial for this cookie on Paula's Blog

Do you remember these Ducks were inspired by the cheeky ducks from the wonderful toy store Cottontails .  Christmas Card available from my Etsy Shop

I could have done with some ducks to help me with orders lately, although I think elves would be more helpful!  I will be away from my Studio from 29th Nov-5th Dec for family parties back home in the UK.  But any postal orders will be sent out to you wherever you are on Dec 6th.  Embroidery and Ornament PDF Patterns will be sent out as normal via email when I am away, so you can keep stitching all those crafty gifts!  This Bunny will be hanging on lots of trees this year, so cute in your favourite colours.
"Rabbit's Favourite Outfit" Ornament PDF Pattern available here

Last Postal Dates for Christmas:
Australia & New Zealand - 6 Dec
USA & Canada - 10 Dec
UK/Europe - 12 Dec

I will be back soon with lots of festive photos from my recent London trip and some exciting new projects I can't wait to share.
Thanks for visiting.

Sewing, stitching & playing..

I am over the moon to finally be able to share my brand new "Sew your own Bumpkin Bunny" Craft Kit!  Oh what fun to see my illustration printed on fabric!  These will be perfect for little crafters and adults alike, great to keep occupied and happy over the festive season.

This Bunny is called Berry and she is keeping cosy in her sweet vintage winter outfit.  I have only got a very limited stock of her so if you would like to welcome her into your home to make (& like to bake carrot cake, her favourite) hop over quickly to catch her!

She is available from here in my Etsy Shop

I am so so busy with custom party orders, christmas orders & new product design that I don't know whether I'm coming or going lately!  But wherever I'm going it's fun to be creative.   Talking of new products I must not forget to show you my other exciting products - a Bumpkin Memory Card Game & new Embroidery Pattern!

The Memory Game has 18 pairs of Bumpkin friends to match including previously unseen illustrations!  All held in a handmade illustrated box.  It would be a real treat in a stocking this Christmas, keeping little ones occupied whilst christmas meals are being made!

Available here

Last but not least to share today is my new "Tea Time Song" Embroidery Pattern with a very merry Robin!  I could just imagine this stitched on all sorts of projects, even a table cloth or napkins for Christmas.  But don't forget Robin's are for life, not just for Christmas ;-)

Available as a PDF Pattern sent straight to your email here

Right, must dash, there is a To Do List pulling my sleeve for attention!!  I went to London recently and have photos to share soon.  Hugs, Catherine x

Friends for Tea at Christmas

It has turned very wintry here, leaves falling and a crisp blue sky.  Perfect weather to snuggle up inside and make some festive decorations for the home!  I hope you will love my new Ornament Pattern as much as I loved making them!

Inspired by my Friends for Tea Illustrations I designed these cheerful little friends for you all to make and hang from your tree and around your home!  All you will need is small amounts of felt in your favourite colours, embroidery thread, a little filling and a cup of Tea to keep you warm!   The Pattern is available from my Etsy Shop as a PDF file ready for you to print and start making straight away!

The Bunnies are made separately to the Teapot and Teacup so you can make extra Bunnies to hop around your Tree!

Busy stitching another Embroidery Pattern this weekend and making a tutorial to match a new Party Range, so lots to share again soon.  For now I'm going to go and make a comforting Apple Pie!

Magic in Paris

What a week it has been, so many new projects all on the go (coming soon!) and my poor kitty, Phoebe is poorly again.   To distract my mind for a while I thought you would like to dream away with me in Paris?!  So make a cup of Tea and have a pain au chocolat & enjoy the last series from my trip x

Have a good weekend,
See you back soon with lots of new goodies!

Red sky at night, my delight!

A glimpse into my weekend, a rainy Saturday, hibernating in the warm and drawing new embroidery patterns, can't wait to get stitching next week!  Then a beautiful evening glow welcomed a Sunny Sunday, off we set to the Coast in Holland, perfect for "blowing away the cobwebs"!

First a stop at the historical town of Zierikzee

A Rainbow captured for you all as a sign of how much I appreciate each & every one of you.

Sing me a song sweet fellow

A bonus of the colder weather setting in is the return to my garden of my friendly Robin.  He is always there to keep me company and entertain with a little song.  He has been inspiring a lot of my work lately, one secret project and a brand new range of Prints & Stationery.

Many that know my work will not be surprised that I love Teacups!  As a child I loved Tea Time at my Granny's home, nestled amongst the fields in Dorset, I would have cold milk in my cup always with a slice of home made cake!  Nowadays I've moved onto Tea and using my Granny's china cups always brings back these happy memories.

She had a particular blue and white mug that would hold her morning cuppa and this was the start of my inspiration one day.  I was sat out in the garden drinking from this cup and watching the Robin searching for worms amongst my flower beds!  Pencil and paper never far away I sketched this little friend balancing on the cup. With touches of fun polka dot and subtle snow flake fabric designs his character started to take shape.  I love that moment when a new idea that you have imagined in your mind starts to appear in front of you!

You can collect all four colour ways of this little fellow, as Art Prints (5x7"), Notecards, Gift Tags & Christmas Cards (complete with a little song from our new friend!).

I love felt pin cushions for Tea Cups

Have a cup of Tea and join us for a Sing A Long as you visit my Etsy Shop to see the entire range. I hope they will bring as much delight to you as they have to me.
